Kasia Sznajder

Necked Vessel I

Handbuilt stoneware drawn upward into an elongated volume, tapering to a narrow mouth. The form recalls archaic amphorae, distilled to its essential silhouette. The interior is thinly glazed, while the exterior remains unglazed and matte, bearing subtle traces of its making. A vessel of quiet gravity, where surface and proportion hold both history and instinct.

Notes

Hand-shaped, each surface records the gestures of its making.

Care

Wash gently by hand with warm water and mild soap. Avoid dishwasher and abrupt temperature shifts. Over time, the glaze may soften and reveal traces of use—part of the material’s evolving surface.

Maker

Kasia Sznajder works with clay through forms that are measured and pared back; each piece begins from a sense of composure, shaped by proportion and balance. Yet within that calm, a shape might lean or swell, following the instinct of its making. Simplicity, therefore, becomes an exploration rather than a fixed ideal, the material recording the pressure of handwork and the subtle shifts of firing.
