Collection 02: Dinesen Country Home

At aarticles, a first image need not have the last word; a collection accrues as objects return in later photographs, meeting new metal pieces by Yeodong Yun, ceramic vessels by Sharlen Nozawa and glass objects by Verre d’Onge, their place in the catalogue loosened by fresh adjacencies.

This return takes place at Dinesen Country Home, a traditional southern Jutland longhouse near the company’s manufacturing facilities in Jels, where Collection 02 comes into contact with a domestic history still porous to modern life. The former Dinesen family home has become a guest house and gathering place; behind the thatched roof and white exterior, Mentze Ottenstein’s interiors introduce a more chromatic life, moving from white-soaped Douglas fir into soft green paint and warm ochre surfaces.
