Casa Gerber
by Paulo Mendes da Rocha (Angra dos Reis, Brazil, 1974)

Set on a rocky peninsula along the coast of Angra dos Reis, the house sits quietly between the trees and the sea. Built directly into the rock, it feels deeply connected to the landscape and the water surrounding it.

Inside, a long kitchen table anchors the space, made for cooking, serving and gathering. From the windows the sea is always present, its shifting light slowly moving through the rooms.
