Vase / Instrument
Handmade terracotta vessel with a rounded body and narrow neck, adapted from traditional Tuscan pottery forms. A circular opening in the side transforms it from container to instrument, when struck with the palm, the hollow body produces a deep, rhythmic sound. Originally part of a terracotta workshop’s production in Chianti, Italy, this one-of-a-kind piece was modified as an exploration of sound through material.
